There is no need to wait any longer – the first public jailbreak of tvOS 11 LiberTV11 (LiberTV 11.1) has been released for Apple TV 4 and Apple TV 4K.
The tool was created by Jonathan Levin, who is the author of several books on macOS security and iOS, and is based on the Ian Beer exploit.
The updated version of LiberTV supports tvOS 11.0 to 11.1, as well as Apple TV 4 and Apple TV 4K fifth generation. With it you get SSH access and it also provides full 'root' access.

There are two ways to install a jailbreak. You need to sign it with your developer account Apple ID and download it either via Cydia Impactor (only for Apple TV 4) or via Xcode.
When you do this, you will get Apple TV with the tvOS 11 jailbreak. Remember that it only supports tvOS 11.0 – 11.1. If you've already upgraded to tvOS 11.2.x, you're out of luck as you can't roll back to a previous version.
