Facebook has supported panoramic photos taken with the stock Camera app for a while now, but today's update will allow you to take 360-degree photos right from the app.

To take a panoramic photo, open the app Facebook and click on the new 360 Photo option at the top of your feed, where you can update your status.

Now click on the blue button and follow the directions until you get a complete panoramic shot. After the photo is ready, you can choose its preview, which will be displayed on the site.

Panoramic photos can also be added to groups.

As with other images, you can tag your friends on them, as well as add them to your albums.

Once published on Facebook 360-degree photos can be rotated, enlarged, etc.

This is a selective update for users iOS and Android, so if you don't have a new feature right away, you'll have to wait a couple of days.
