Update iOS 12 contains performance improvements as well as many new features and changes. Like other significant updates iOS, this release contains some issues. Below we have listed the most common ones and suggested solutions.
1. Update does not appear in Settings
If your update iOS 12 does not appear in the General> Software Update section, first check if your device is in the list of supported models iOS 12.
The update may not appear because you have version iOS 12 GM installed. The build number of this version and the public version iOS 12 is the same, so the update will not appear, because you essentially have the final version iOS 12 installed.
If your device is compatible with iOS 12 and you have not installed iOS 12 GM version, read the instructions on how to install iOS 12 manually via iTunes.
2.No new features appeared
Some new features iOS 12 (Memoji, Commands Siri and camera effects) are not supported on older models.
FaceTime conferences are not available in the first version of the update for everyone, they will appear a little later.
3. Installation error iOS 12
Usually, errors occur when you try to install an update immediately after it is released, and the servers can't keep up with the influx of users.
Most of the users have already installed the update, so now there should be no problems. You can read our article on how to fix an update error iOS 12.
4. Applications crash
It's a shame when your favorite apps stop working after installing an update. To fix the problem with the app, try the following options:
- Please update the app to the latest version. To do this, go to App Store and open the Updates tab. See if there are any available updates and download them.
- Uninstall the app and reinstall it. To do this, hold down the application icon on the home screen until the animation appears, and then click on the “X” in the corner of the application icon and select Delete. Then download it again from App Store.
5. The battery runs out quickly
Some users are complaining that after installing iOS 12, their devices use up battery faster. This problem is very subjective, since battery consumption is highly dependent on how you use your device. It is also very difficult to figure out the cause of the problem. You can read our article on how to optimize charging usage in iOS 12.
6. Problems with Wi-Fi
If you are having trouble connecting to a Wi-Fi network, try force restarting your device. If that doesn't help, go to Settings> General> Reset> Reset Network Settings. If that doesn't help either, read our article on how else you can fix the problem.
7. Problems with Bluetooth – accessories
If you are unable to connect Bluetooth – accessories to your device, try a forced reboot. You can also turn off Bluetooth, reboot the device and turn it on again. If that doesn't help, read our article on this topic.
