At the end of 2017, we wrote that the AppTapp team is working on an alternative to Cydia – the Installer 5 application. The application has been in development for a long time, and today the AppTapp team finally said that tomorrow (May 22) the first beta version of the Installer will be released five.
The team will also show the app publicly. Since Installer 5 is an 'independent project', the application can easily be updated to newer versions iOS.
If AppTapp does release the app, it will be after months of delays. The project has garnered a lot of attention in the jailbreak space, so the final product may not live up to expectations at all.
Below you can watch an 8-second teaser that AppTeam shared back in December last year.

The Installer app was the first in App Store for tweaks and jailbreak apps, but was later replaced by Cydia. With Installer 5, the developers hope to overtake Cydia in popularity due to the new interface and other features.
The problem with Cydia is that it needs to be updated with every new jailbreak, and the long wait is frustrating for users. Installer 5 will solve this problem, as it can be easily and quickly updated for each new tool.
