Screen resolution is nothing more than the number of pixels in width and height. For example, the screen iPhone 6 Plus has a resolution of 1080 by 1920 pixels. Create Wallpaper in Pixelmator for iPhone and iPad

1. Launch Pixelmator and click on the plus icon in the main library to add an image to use as a wallpaper.
2. Select the Photos option to open your albums.
3. Find the image you want.
4. When the image opens, click on the brush icon in the top menu.
5. Select the Crop option.
6. Click on the Aspect button in the bottom menu.
7. Select the aspect ratio of your device's screen. You will probably need to rotate the image to make it look right inside the frame.
8. When you like how the picture looks, click Apply.
9. Click on the gear icon in the top menu.
10. Select Image Setup.
11. The Rotate button will appear at the bottom, use it to rotate the image back, if necessary.
12. Click on the Resolution button at the bottom of the window.
