Earlier today Apple released security update iOS 11 containing a patch for the recently discovered Specter bug.
And now the same update is out for the Mac. Apple has officially released macOS High Sierra 10.13.2. The update is already available for download on Mac App Store.
Specter and Meltdown are serious exploits related not to the system, but to the technology. Both were discovered recently and have raised a lot of panic. Recently Apple confirmed that exploits do threaten all of the company's devices.
Security updates iOS and macOS are designed to protect users from exploit attacks. They are available now and we recommend installing them as soon as possible.
It's good that Apple released updates so quickly. Given that the Specter is not technically fixed yet, users can only hope for system updates. However, it is better than nothing, as the Specter and Meltdown exploits have touched a huge number of devices.
