Apple forgot to remove the non-functional 'Facebook Like' button from Game Center

You may have noticed that in Game it is no longer possible to like via Facebook.

This is due to the fact that in iOS 11 the linking of social media accounts was removed from Settings, since now all the same features are available in the 'Share' menu.

Before iOS 11, you could log into your accounts Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Flickr right in Settings. This way, developers didn't have to spend time adding features to their apps that could be used to share on social networks.

But, as it turns out, the company forgot to remove the 'like' button from Game Center, which no longer functions. It can be found on the leaderboards and achievements.

If you try to click on the like, a message will appear stating that this cannot be done. Apparently, the non-working button is still tied to a non-existent account Facebook in Settings.

Apple did not comment on this situation in any way and did not explain what the reason was.

Many question whether this is a bug or just an oversight. Most likely, here is the second option, because the company did not forget to remove the 'like' button from App Store.

On the other hand, it is quite difficult not to notice a non-functioning button, and several months have passed.

As you know, Game Center stopped being a standalone app in 2016 with the release of iOS 10.

Game Center is now available as a service in games that support it, and you can manage it in Settings → Game Center, but a separate application no longer exists, and you can no longer add / remove friends.
