Switching apps through 3D Touch will return to iOS 11

Back in June, it became known that with the transition to iOS 11 users will no longer be able to switch between applications using 3D Touch. And so it turned out, but, fortunately, this is a temporary measure. As Craig Federighi told MacRumors, the removal of the feature is a technical issue. In an upcoming update, support for this gesture will return to the system.

At the same time, Federighi wrote that this will happen in the “upcoming update iOS 11.x” – that is, not the fact that we are talking about the next update. Given that many users have complained about the lack of this gesture, we will keep our finger on the pulse and will let you know as soon as it is returned.

Recall that in iOS 10 3D Touch allows you to activate the navigation mode between open applications with one strong press on the left side of the display. It is easier and more convenient for one-handed operation than pressing the physical home button twice. Note that this feature only works on devices that support 3D Touch – that is, iPhone 6s and newer.
