1. Improved performance on older models
Apple is working hard to ensure that the new iOS 12 features can be enjoyed by owners of all iOS 11 supported devices, including iPhone 5s. Moreover, older models will perform much better with this version. On iPhone 6 apps launch 40% faster, keyboard 50%, and camera 70% faster.
2. Consolidated notifications
Apple has finally updated the notification system – now they are grouped by application, post, correspondence and context. Click on a group and you can view all the notifications in it.
3. Do not disturb at night
Now with the Do Not Disturb mode, the smartphone screen will not light up from notifications at night. After activating the screen, you will only see a blank lock screen. In the morning, notifications will remain hidden until you turn on the screen.
4. Do Not Disturb icons in Control Center
You can now use 3D Touch on the Do Not Disturb icon in Control Center to select settings. If desired, you can turn on the mode for just an hour. If you have a meeting saved in your calendar, you can activate the mode only for the duration of this meeting.
5. Manage lock screen notifications
You can now manage your notification settings right from the lock screen. You can turn off notifications from specific apps, hide them on the lock screen, and more, all without having to go to Settings. If you do not use the application for a long time and do not respond to its notifications, Siri will offer to disable them.
6. Emergency notifications
There is a new kind of emergency notifications that you will receive even when Do Not Disturb is active.
7. Screen time
You will receive detailed reports on how much time you spend at your device and in which applications. In addition, you will know how many times a day you use your smartphone and what for. Information is synchronized to iPhone and to iPad. Reports will be generated weekly.
8. Application restrictions
Once you know how much time you spend on apps, you can set time limits on their use. You will receive a notification when the time is running out. When it ends, the application will close. The restrictions can be ignored, but after a while iOS it will try to do its job again.
9. Parental Control
Application restrictions can be used for parental controls as well. From your device, you can limit the amount of time your child can spend in specific apps on theirs. Restrictions may apply to all applications or only certain categories, like games.
10. New Animoji
Four new Animoji have been added: Ghost, Koala, Tiger, and Tyrannosaurus.
11. Language detection in Animoji
Now you can stick your tongue out and the Animoji character will repeat after you.
12. Memoji
You will be able to create your Animoji character. The feature works like Bitmoji, but based on a 3D scanner. You can choose the color of skin, hair, eyes, etc. and create a character that looks like yourself.
13. Camera Effects in Messages
When you open the Camera from Messages, you will see a small icon with effects in the lower left corner of the screen. With it, you can choose a filter, sticker, Animoji or Memoji for your photo. This makes it very convenient to send funny photos via Messages.
14. FaceTime conferences
FaceTime has finally been updated! Now the application has a new design, and there are conferences in which up to 32 users can participate simultaneously. People are displayed in small squares on the screen, and when they speak, the squares become larger and more visible.
15. FaceTime in Messages
You can start a FaceTime call directly from a group chat in Messages. Users will be able to join using the link.
16. Recommendations Siri
Recommendations Siri now apply to the entire system. When Siri remembers your habits, the virtual assistant will start offering you quick actions at the right time. Recommendations are shown on the lock screen and in search.
17. New Shortcuts app
Apple integrated Workflow application right into iOS. The new default app is called Shortcuts and is tied to Siri. The interface is very similar to Workflow. You can create a series of multiple actions. You can name the series and then just ask Siri to execute it.
18. Add to Siri
Siri becomes open to third party applications. With the 'Add to Siri' button you will be able to use some of the virtual assistant functions in third party applications. Added actions are synced across all devices, including HomePod.

Translator Siri now supports over 40 languages. Only a few were previously supported.
20. New knowledge Siri
