WatchOS 4.3.1: all new features and changes

Apple has released watchOS 4.3.1 to the public. The update for Apple Watch contains few new features and can already be downloaded over the air via the Software Update mechanism. Below we will dwell on all the new features and changes in watchOS 4.3.1.

In March Apple released watchOS 4.3 with a new mode, thanks to which the watch can work both vertically and horizontally, which is very convenient when charging using Qi-standard wireless devices.

In addition, watchOS 4.3 added music controls to iPhone, as well as a new animation when the watch is connected to the charger.

Soon after, Apple released the first watchOS 4.3.1 beta to developers.

Apple reminds you that watchOS 1 apps will not be supported in future versions of watchOS. The watch now displays a message that older apps will stop working after Apple Watch Generation 4 is released this fall.

The watchOS 4.3 update contains bug fixes.

Most likely Apple will be showcasing the next big watchOS update at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2018), which kicks off in a few days. It will bring support for third-party watch faces as well as official Spotify support for Apple Watch.

To install the update, go to the app Apple Watch for iPhone and select General> Software Update and follow the instructions on the screen.
