On Thursday, Samsung unveiled its new Note 9 smartphone, and with it the Galaxy Watch. The new smartwatch will be released on August 24 and will replace the Gear S3, which was released two years ago.
Galaxy Watch is very similar to Gear S3 Classic, but in terms of content it resembles more Apple Watch. For example, the new watch will be available in rose gold, silver and indigo (black). There will also be two sizes available: 42mm and 46mm. The small variant will cost $ 329.99 and the large one will cost $ 349.99.
The watch has kept its round shape. The 46mm version weighs 63 grams and the 42mm version weighs 49 grams.
AMOLED – Galaxy Watch display is covered with Corning Gorilla DX + glass. The watch is fully waterproof and has IP68 certification as well as MIL-STD-810G.
The display resolution is 360×360. The display size of the small model is 1.2 “and the large one is 1.3”.
Like the Gear S3, the Galaxy Watch runs on an operating system Tizen.
In terms of battery life, Samsung claims the watch can last several days on a single charge, or 80+ hours for the large model and 45 for the small model.
