Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has published a new post with his speculations on new devices Apple including Apple Watch Series 4, AirPods 2 and iPad Pro 2018.
iPad Pro 2018
Kuo believes that Apple will replace the Lightning connector in iPad Pro 2018 with a USB-C connector. If true, such a decision Apple would be unexpected. The analyst also thinks that the new tablets will come with an 18W USB-C power adapter, rather than the 5W power adapter found on current models. Thanks to the new adapter, they can charge faster.
In his opinion, 11-inch and 12.9-inch tablets will support Face ID, but they will not have a Home button.
iPhone 2018
Kuo claims that a 5W power adapter will remain with the new iPhone 2018. This contradicts rumors that it will be replaced with an 18W USB-C adapter. Apple added fast charging to last year's line of smartphones for the first time, but did not replace weak adapters with new ones. Because of this, most users have not even experienced the new technology. Moreover, not everyone still knows about it.
Despite minor production problems, Apple will release the budget LCD iPhone in late September – early October. At first, the number of smartphones will be limited due to display manufacturing issues.
Apple Watch Series 4
As for the new smartwatches, Kuo believes they will have thinner bezels. All models will have a ceramic back. In addition, the new models will support electrocardiography (ECG). If so, a lot of people will buy Apple Watch Series 4 just because of this feature.
New budget MacBook
The analyst says the new budget MacBook will replace the current 12-inch MacBook. It will have Touch ID, but no touchbar.
Most of Ming-Chi Kuo's speculations are in line with rumors, but there are also some bold claims. The transition Apple to USB-C for iPad Pro will surely be a big event, but so far it's hard to believe. The news that iPhone 2018 will include a 5W adapter will disappoint many.
