If you are trying to lose weight, then Apple Watch will help you with this. To do this, set a goal for yourself to walk 10,000 steps every day, or at least on weekdays.
Why are we counting steps, not calories?
Thanks to the heart rate monitor, Apple calculates the number of calories you burn during the day. However, to get more accurate measurements, especially when exercising, you should tell the watch what exercises you are doing, such as running indoors or outdoors, walking on an elliptical trainer, and so on.
You may forget to do this manually each time. This is one of the drawbacks Apple Watch .It would be ideal if the watch itself asked me what exercise I was doing, thereby pushing me to do it. For this reason, it is best to count the number of steps.
How to Apple Watch find out how many steps you have taken
- Start the Activity app. This can be done from the main screen by pressing the crown. Or if you use Watch face, find it there.
- Switch to view mode or the main screen of the Activity app.
- Scroll down the display with your finger or the digital head.
- There you will see the number of steps —Total steps, Active calories and Total Distance.
It would be nice if the company Apple made it easier to review the steps. There are applications such as StepCard (link to the application in the AppStore – free) that allow you to add a step count display on the display. Unfortunately, such applications do not work very accurately and do not display the change in the number of steps in real time.
