On September 12 Apple hosted a Gather Round event at its headquarters in Cupertino. The company presented new smartphones and smart watches there, and also made a couple of other important announcements. As always, the stream of all kinds of rumors and leaks began long before Apple announced the date and name of the event. In addition to the three iPhones and the updated Apple Watch, analysts also claimed that we can see AirPods 2, new MacBook, HomePod 2 and a wireless stand Charging AirPower. In reality, the presentation turned out to be rather modest for the announcements of new technology – but rich in impressions.
Until the last few days it was not known exactly what the new iPhones would be called – if iPhone Xs and Xs Max figured out a week before the presentation, then we heard the name iPhone RX only on the eve of the announcement. Let's go straight to the new smartphones.
iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max
This year we again received two flagships, which differ from each other almost only in the size of the display. iPhone Xs is a direct successor to iPhone X: this year's model has slightly improved the display, keeping the same dimensions (5.8 ″). As for the Max, it was equipped with a giant 6.5-inch display, making it the largest iPhone in history.
Both new items received the latest processor Apple A12 Bionic, improved main (12 Mp + 12 Mp) and front (7 Mp TrueDepth) cameras, as well as a new color – gold, which will complement the existing options (silver and gray space”). In addition, these are also the first iPhones with 512GB storage capacity.

iPhone XR
If flagships are too expensive for you, the budget iPhone XR … you may not be able to afford either. This inexpensive Apple smartphone received a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina display, the same front-facing camera as the older models, but a single main camera. The novelty also received the A12 Bionic and support for an improved version of Face ID.

Apple Watch Series 4
The newest ones Apple Watch get an enlarged display with rounded edges, new sizes (40 and 44 mm) and support for all existing straps and bracelets. The new watch is so smart that it can make the owner an ECG in 30 seconds and call the emergency services if they find that the owner has fallen. The novelty works 18 hours on a single charge and will go on sale this month.
