Every year Apple holds its own WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference). The company has not yet announced the details of the 2018 event, but now there is a serious catch that suggests the date of its holding.
For several years now Apple has been hosting this event in June – and the location also rarely changes. Between 2003 and 2016, WWDC took place at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. However, last year the company moved the event to the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, and it is believed that the conference will be held there for several years.
If so, an analysis of the McEnery Convention Center schedule suggests exactly when WWDC 2018 will take place. Specifically, the center is now booked in June for the following events:
- O'Reilly Velocity Conference (June 11-11)
- DataWorks and Hadoop Summits (June 17-17)
- Sensors Exhibition and Conference (June 26-28)
Previously Apple also used WWDC as a platform for the presentation of new technology. For example, the current Mac Pro was unveiled at WWDC 2013, and the new ones iPad Pro at WWDC 2017.
Rumor has it that, like last year, Apple is announcing a new iPad Pro – some sources refer to it as iPad X due to the fact that it supposedly will borrow from iPhone X the TrueDepth camera with Face ID and, accordingly, the notch in the display too. There were also a number of reports from analysts and insiders, which said that at WWDC 2018 will also see the light of iPhone SE 2. According to available unofficial data, it will receive characteristics iPhone 7 and wireless charging.
WWDC 2017 was attended by about 5,000 developers and 1,000 engineers. More people are expected to attend the upcoming WWDC, although tickets are likely to hit $ 1,599. If you do not have the opportunity to travel to San Jose, you will be able to watch the online broadcast on the WWDC website and in the branded application.
