For a while, there were rumors that Apple will be presenting new models iPad Pro this month, but this did not happen. Fortunately, there is still hope for the next month.

This week Apple released the first beta version iOS 12.1 for developers, and previously unknown information has already been discovered in it. Face ID now supports face recognition in a horizontal position, which means future models iPad Pro will definitely support the technology.

Now developer Steve Troughton-Smith reports that simulation iOS 12.1 contains support for external 4K displays. As noted by the developer, such support is not possible for all existing devices with iOS, which means Apple plans to add support for USB Type-C to the new iPad Pro 2018.

So far, there is no confirmation of this, but for a long time there have been rumors that Apple will switch to USB-C for iPad Pro. The company itself has not yet announced anything on this matter.

Switching to USB-C for iPad Pro is good news, but it will also upset those hoping for support from iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR.
