Should I change iPhone 6s or iPhone 7 to iPhone XS?

Every time a new one comes out iPhone, each owner iPhone gets a new one. You have iPhone 6 or iPhone 7 and are considering buying iPhone XS, but not sure if you should? Read on and we'll help you make your decision.

iPhone - 6s-7-xs

iPhone XS is much better than iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 in almost every aspect. But it is also very expensive. Before you buy iPhone XS, you need to understand if you have a good enough reason for this. Running out of power? Has your smartphone started to work slowly? Or maybe you want a better camera?

If you are satisfied with everything in your old smartphone except that it began to work slower, wait for the release of iOS 12. The new version of the system will significantly improve the performance of old models, including iPhone 6s with iPhone 7.

Design and display

Both iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 have a 4.7-inch Retina display. Apple is renowned for its excellent LCD – displays, and iPhone 6 with 7 are no exception. But they are no match for the 5.8-inch OLED True Tone display on the iPhone XS.

OLED – The iPhone XS panel provides much better color reproduction, brightness, contrast and image quality. Plus, unlike iPhone 6 and 7, you also get True Tone, HDR10 and Dolby Vision support for great video content quality.

iPhone XS is slightly larger iPhone 6s and iPhone 7, but its display is much larger – 5.8 inches versus 4.7 inches. A larger screen means more content on the screen, which is always a good thing.

Even in terms of design, the iPhone XS represents a huge leap forward from iPhone 6 and iPhone 7. iPhone XS with display on the entire front panel looks very modern, which is not the case with iPhone 6 or iPhone 7 with large bezels at the bottom and top of the screen.

iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 still work great for their age. There is no point in denying that over time they have become slower and sometimes take a long time to load games and applications. In addition, many modern games freeze or simply fail to launch on these smartphones. iPhone 6s and 7 lag behind in terms of the neural engine parameters, which means they display augmented reality worse.

iPhone XS is the best smartphone from Apple. Its A12 Bionic processor is based on a 7nm process technology and contains 6.9 billion transistors. It features a 6-core CPU, a custom-designed 4-core GPU from Apple and an 8-core neural engine that can handle 5 trillion operations per second. In comparison, last year's A11 Bionic processor is only capable of 600 million operations.

TrueDepth camera and Face ID

The iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 have a regular FaceTime HD front camera, and the iPhone XS has a new TrueDepth system, which is much more complex and consists of a set of different sensors and a 7MP lens . The TrueDepth camera can read image depth information. In addition, the Face ID system works on its basis, which became faster and more accurate than on iPhone X.

iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 support Touch ID biometric authentication. While it is more reliable, Face ID is much more convenient and modern.

The TrueDepth camera on iPhone XS also provides Animoji, Memoji, and Portrait mode with Depth function. All of these features are missing on iPhone 6s and iPhone 7. This is not the main reason to update your smartphone, but there is no denying that Face ID is much more convenient than Touch ID. And Memoji and Animoji are a fun new way to connect with your loved ones.

All three models have a 12MP main camera. However, the iPhone XS has a wider f / 1.8 aperture, thanks to which the smartphone can shoot better in low light, the pictures are more detailed, and the dynamic range is wider. The new smartphone also supports the Smart HDR function, thanks to which the picture quality will be even better.

iPhone The XS can record 4K video at 60fps and stereo sound. There is less background noise in the video, the details are better, and the dynamic range is wider.

The iPhone XS also has a 12MP telephoto lens with dual optical zoom and Portrait mode with Depth function. The A12 Bionic processor allows you to adjust the amount of background blur, even in finished shots – an exclusive feature of the iPhone XS ruler.

In terms of camera, the iPhone XS is much better iPhone 6s and iPhone 7. If you enjoy taking a lot of photos, the iPhone XS won't disappoint you.

Dual sim cards, better connection

iPhone XS contains a Gigabit LTE modem, which means the speed of mobile Internet on it is better than on iPhone 6s with iPhone 7. It will also catch the network signal better. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth got better too.

The main difference iPhone XS is support for two SIM cards, but you cannot use it if your operator does not support the eSIM technology that you decided to use Apple.

Nowadays, the batteries of iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 cannot be enough for a day of active smartphone use. Most owners of older smartphones always carry a charger with them to keep it going for a day. The battery iPhone Xs is many times better. iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 can work up to 14 hours of talk time and 10 when working on the Internet, and iPhone XS – up to 20 and 12 hours.
