Rumors about iPad Pro 2018: thin bezels, new smart connector, lack of 3.5mm jack, etc.

According to rumors, the dimensions of the first will be 247.5 x 178.7 x 6 mm. For comparison, the dimensions of the current 10.5-inch model are 250.6 x 174.1 x 6.1 mm.

The 12.9-inch iPad Pro measures 280 x 215 x 6.4 mm, which is much smaller than the old 305.7 x 220.6 x 6.9 mm. The larger model was shrunk more than the 10.5-inch model. Now the tablet will be more convenient to carry with you.

Apple will be able to reduce the size by abandoning Touch ID, which will be replaced by Face ID. However, there were earlier rumors that Face ID on tablets will not be able to recognize faces in a horizontal position, which will be a problem for those who use their iPad this way.

Unfortunately, the trend that started with the release of iPhone 7 will not end – the new ones iPad Pro will not have a headphone jack. Moreover, the tablet does not even come with a 3.5mm-Lightning adapter.

Apple will also change the location of the Smart Connector – it will be moved to the Lightning port. If this is true, then the new tablets will not be compatible with all existing accessories.

In addition, the keyboard for new models will also need to be vertical. This will be unusual for most users, so let's see if the rumors are true.

The new information has raised many questions about the upcoming lineup iPad Pro. If all the information above turns out to be true, then many will probably refuse to buy new models.
