There have been more and more news and rumors lately about the iPhone 2018 lineup. Often, reports contradict each other.
However, KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo continues to hold his own. He believes this year's lineup will consist of two new iPhone with OLED displays and one with LCD display. The analyst released three more new reports today.
Kuo essentially repeated everything he had said earlier. Model with LCD – the display will be 6.1-inch, it will have minimal bezels like iPhone X, and there will be no Home button. In addition, the smartphone will have a TrueDepth camera with Face ID technology. The battery will be rectangular in shape and consist of one piece, its capacity must be between 2850 and 2950mAh. This model will cost from 700 to 800 dollars.
Kuo provided more details on the production. In his opinion, 70% LCD of the panels will be manufactured by Japan Display. Rumor has it that for the new model Apple uses Full Active panels LCD. The main manufacturers of the 6.1-inch model will be Foxconn, Pegatron and Winstron.
In addition, the analyst spoke about the updated iPhone X and iPhone X Plus. According to his sources, the new models iPhone X will have 4GB of RAM each. The iPhone X Plus will have a large battery of approximately 3400mAh. Both models will have a two-piece 'L' shaped battery like the original iPhone X.
Although there is a lot of information on the network, it is Kuo's opinion that often corresponds to reality more than others. Apple will try to get rid of LCD – panels by using them for the cheapest model. The company pins more hopes on two new iPhone X with OLED – displays. Let's see what the prices will be this year. It's also interesting how the prices of the older models will change, especially given the expected release of iPhone SE 2 this year.
