According to insider information, the next generation iPad Pro will receive a new 8-core processor based on the improved 7nm TSMC (Taiwan) process technology. The chipset will be named A11X Bionic and will consist of three high-performance Monsoon cores and five energy-efficient Mistral cores.
Presumably, the A11X Bionic will be complemented by the next generation M11 coprocessor and a neural engine that will be responsible for AI tasks like face recognition, which, according to rumors, will be added in iPad Pro next year. In general, the new processor should significantly improve the performance of the already powerful tablet Apple.
Recall that the current one iPad Pro is equipped with the A10X Fusion processor based on the 10nm process technology of the same TSMC.
It is expected that in addition to support for Face ID, the next iPad Pro will have a new design a la iPhone X. In particular, the frames around the screen will be practically absent, and the Home button will be replaced by gesture control.
