On Monday, there was a second wave of discounts called Cyber Monday. Although this sale is not as popular as Black Friday, you can also get the desired items at a good discount on it. As the name suggests – Cyber Monday – on this day, most of the equipment sellers make discounts.
After that, Adobe released its online sales report on November 27, 2017. According to this data, the current Cyber Monday has set a new record and became “the day with the highest online sales in history”. In total, by the end of the day, about $ 6.59 billion had been spent, which is 16.8% more than last year. If you think Black Friday was probably more successful, then this is far from the case. During Black Friday 2017, shoppers spent $ 5.03 billion, and $ 2.87 billion on the Thanksgiving sale a little earlier.
Adobe used its powerful algorithms to collect and analyze sales data from over 4,500 online stores and nearly 55 million product items. As a result, it turned out that the technique Apple was the most popular this Monday.
Best sellers
At the same time, wireless headphones AirPods became the bestsellers, and iPad were included in the list of the best-selling equipment – along with, again, AirPods, Google Chromecast, Samsung tablets and Nintendo Switch. Interestingly, the stores were extremely reluctant to reduce prices for equipment Apple.
Walmart was one of the few to offer a discount on AirPods at $ 15, or about 10% of the $ 159 MSRP. But discounts on different models iPad were much more frequent. It was possible to save a little even when buying a 9.7-inch iPad or 10.5- and 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
Mobile shopping
Lovers of ordering through a mobile browser or branded store apps have also set a new record. Such users turned out to be 47.4% of the total number of buyers on Cyber Monday (39.9% – smartphones, 7.6% – tablets). Unsurprisingly, turnover was 39.2% higher than last year, and the total amount of transactions from mobile devices reached a record $ 1.59 billion. Of all smartphones used by customers on Cyber Monday, iPhone ($ 123). At Android this figure was about $ 110.
Benefit
Note that the biggest discounts were not for smartphones, tablets or other popular electronics. The most profitable offers were for TVs (average discount –21.1%), toys (18.8%) and computers (14.7%).
