Apple will fix a bug Siri in the next system update

For Apple the security of their devices is very important, but sometimes there are some problems or bugs that violate it.

The same is with the recently discovered bug Siri, thanks to which the virtual assistant can read hidden notifications. The problem was only discovered this week. The security bug allows Siri to read hidden notifications from third-party applications like WhatsApp, Telegram, Skype, etc., even when the smartphone is locked.

According to the initial report, the standard Message application is not affected by the bug. Siri will not be able to read your messages until you unlock your smartphone with a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. Unfortunately, third party apps are not secure.

However, the company is already aware of the problem and will fix it with an upcoming system update.

Below is the statement Apple:

“We are aware of the issue and will be fixed in an upcoming software update.”

So far, no other information is available, so the exact release date of the update remains unknown. Most likely, the problem will be fixed soon, given its seriousness.

If you want to protect yourself at least temporarily, you can completely disable Siri on the lock screen in Settings -> Siri and Search -> Siri with a screen lock. Alternatively, you can turn off notifications for some apps on the lock screen. To do this, go to Settings -> Notifications and select the applications whose notifications you want to secure.
