You've probably already heard of the TikTok app that broke the download record. So Facebook wants to regain its former leadership.
Facebook has quietly released a new 'Lasso' app. It is a platform for creating short 15-second videos that can be easily shared with anyone. Lasso should compete with the TikTok app, as it will also be able to film yourself with music. However, Lasso will also be able to create repetitive short videos like Vine. Recall that the successor to Vine – the Byte app – will be released in early 2019.
Facebook told that the main thing in the new application is creativity.
Lasso is a new standalone app for short entertainment videos, from comedy to beauty and fitness. The service has a lot of potential, and we will definitely listen to user feedback.
You can create an account with Lasso either through an account at Facebook or through Instagram. Once the account is created, you will need to give the app access to your profile information, as well as photos and videos on devices. When you scroll through the tape, the video will play automatically.
It looks like Facebook added a lot of content to the app before releasing it. The company adhered to the same strategy with the Facebook Watch service, which already had a lot of interesting things right after the launch.
